The Institute recognizes that many paper tole teachers around the world are not able to attend the training seminars and workshops offered in the U.S.A. We however offer certification to any paper tole teacher. Any certification will apply the Paper Tole Institute standards as detailed on the "Paper Tole Standards" page on this website. Teachers can prepare themselves for certification by becoming familiar with the standards as outlined and by practicing those standards before submitting art work for judging. Applying the PTI standards will help a Teacher to submit projects acceptable to the judges the first time.
Projects must be shipped to The Paper Tole Institute, Dotty Maddox, 5616 Dustin Court NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120 for everywhere EXCEPT Europe. Shipping costs to and from the Institute are the responsibility of the applicant.
Please note that the judges are not judging the size of the piece of paper tole but the complexity and execution of the work. You do not need to send large pieces of art in order to pass the certification levels. If you are going to send large pieces of art for judging please DO NOT send them with glass in the frames!! You do not have to send the art framed just packaged as to prevent damage to the art.
People in Europe send and email to Marit Gabler, Jernbanegaten 14, 1706 Sarpsborg, Norway for judging. The fees for Certification are different in Europe so you need to contact Marit to get a listing of those fees. Shipping costs to and from the Institute are the responsibility of the applicant. Please note that the judges are not judging the size but the complexity and execution of the work.
