The current owners purchased the Tole Way in 2012. But the Tole Way has been in existence since 1995 when Dee Overduin first started it. The goal has always been, and remains to be, to treat every customer like they were a part of our family. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services come with a personal touch.
Tole Way's History
Dee Overduin was the owner and founder of the Tole Way. Prior to her internet business, Dee owned and operated the Tole Way as a custom framing and paper tole craft center, in Commerce, Texas in 1995. Before that, she owned and operated paper tole and framing shops in Canada.
During the past 20 years, she has taught paper tole to hundreds of students, of all ages and from around the globe, both male and female. Many of her students have gone on to become instructors and business owners themselves, turning their newly-learned craft into rewarding and profitable enterprises. Many have produced award-winning art pieces. All have entered into a world that is exciting, challenging, creative, soothing, rewarding...and just plain FUN. Dee can be seen on the Carol Duvall Show, episode 659. She has written three comprehensive paper tole books, and is a lifetime member of the Paper Tole Institute.
Dick and Eileen Greider purchased the Tole Way in August 2003. Mr. and Mrs. Greider loved the art and purchased the Tole Way as a business when Dee wanted to retire. The Greiders continued the same friendly service that was always here at the Tole Way. Dee passed her vast knowledge to the Greiders and they continued to operate the Tole Way until 2012 when they retired and sold the business to the current owners.
In 2012 Tina Lynn, Dorothy Maddox and Nona Church purchased the Toleway from Mr. and Mrs. Greider. Tina Lynn and Dorothy Maddox also own the Paper Tole Institute so both of the original businesses belonging to Dee Oberduin are once again together. Between the three owner there is well over 30 years of paper tole experience and love of the art! We are hoping for a very bright future for both of the entities.
Our hope comes with the endeavor to make paper tole as widespread as possible. Our goal at the Toleway is to provide a quality product at a reasonable price. We aim to bring new techniques to go with those new products, including how-to videos for those products. We want to make our shop a place to learn, share and purchase all that you need for paper tole.
HAPPY SNIPPING TO ALL!!!!!
